Child Care in the New School Year

School is starting soon and with that comes time to start thinking about childcare options while you are at work. Whether your child will need a tutor for e-learning or day-care options, members of the Schaumburg Business Association have you covered. Little Sunshine’s Playhouse, Bright Horizons and College Nannies all have options and tips for when it is time to go back to school.
Little Sunshine’s Playhouse has their doors open for all families because they understand families need a sense of “normalcy” with socialization and learning.  They have strict COVID-19 guidelines in place to keep all children safe. If you are a member of the Schaumburg Business Association they are running a special member to member discount, where you will receive the first two weeks of child care free and a waived enrollment fee, on top of the lifetime founding family discount that they are offering all families. If you have any questions please reach out to Colleen Howard at colleenh@littlesunshine.com and for more information click here. Little Sunshine’s Playhouse is located at 370 N. Barrington Rd in Schaumburg.
Bright Horizons in Schaumburg is open and enrolling in their infant through kindergarten classrooms. Bright Horizons is trusted by parents around the world-including many doctors and nurses on the front lines of COVID-19 – to care for children. Their enhanced health and safety protocols were developed in partnership with pediatric infectious disease specialist Dr. Kristin Moffitt of Boston Children’s Hospital and align with CDC recommendations, as well as state and local requirements.
Bright Horizons is also pleased to offer additional resources to help families stay connected and support their child’s learning, including Bright Horizons World at Home, webinars, and the Family Room Blog.
More than 1,000 top employers trust them for proven solutions that support employees, advance careers, and maximize performance. From on-site childcare that amplifies your culture, back-up care to handle disruptions, and education programs that build critical skills, our services help you achieve more.  For more information about how to provide these benefits to your employees, click here or call 800-453-9383 to start the conversation. Bright Horizons is located at 1920 N. Thoreau Drive, Suite 100 in Schaumburg.
College Nannies is currently trying to fill over 70 placements for families looking for help with eLearning across the Northwest suburbs and West suburbs. The advice they would give families during these times is to figure out their needs vs wants. If families would like help Monday through Friday from 8:00am – 3:00pm but someone is only able to help until 2:00pm, they suggest trying to be flexible and work with their tutor.
In terms of cost, some employers provide a Back Up Care benefit to their employees where the employer pays for childcare costs at legal daycares and schools. College Nannies is a legal daycare, they have many families who use their BUC benefit with them. They would encourage members to look at their benefits through their employer because this may open more options for them. For more information on College Nannies click here or you can reach them at (847) 305-2952 , located at 109 W. Main Street in Barrington.
