There are 3 levels of charging for today’s EVs

1) Level 1 - requires 120 volt outlets

2) Level 2 - requires 240 volt outlets and a charging unit

3) DC Fast Charging - requires 400 volt or higher and a charging unit

Site Selection

1) Proximity to electrical panels

2) Accessibility for EV drivers

3) Availability of voltage

Hardware

1) Power (7.2kW and 7.7kW) are most common in Level 2 chargers

2) OCPP protocol allowing communication between charging hardware

and EV driver

3) WiFi or cellular connectivity

Software

1) Allows for custom pricing

2) Monitoring electricity consumption

3) Revenue sharing
