Why support Access to Care?
The Suburban Primary Health Care Council’s mission is to facilitate access to primary health care services to residents of suburban Cook County and northwest Chicago who lack such access because of financial barriers. It has successfully fulfilled this mission since 1988 through its Access to Care program.
Last year the Access to Care program served 6,134 individuals! The program encourages physicians to contribute their time and skills in the spirit of community service. Doctors in family practice and internal medicine participating in the program provide basic health care services. We have a long-standing relationship of over 37 years with townships and municipalities who rely on our program to reach the at-risk population. With nearly 500 private physicians, more than 60+ radiology and lab service providers and private hospitals in network, ensures all ATC members can use services and fill prescriptions at convenient locations close to their homes. In doing so the Council creates a local network of primary care services in the patient’s own neighborhood. The most impactful aspect of the program is that it provides access to this existing private medical infrastructure to low-income, uninsured and under-insured individuals and brings in participation from the private physicians unique only to Access to Care.

We could not do all of this without YOU!
