Daily Herald's Fittest Loser Corporate Challenge

Daily Herald's Fittest Loser Corporate Challenge

Keeping your employees and co-workers healthy and fit is important to the financial and physical well-being of your organization. To that end, we are happy to announce the Daily Herald Media Group is adding Corporate Teams to our annual Fittest Loser Challenge.

As you may know, this is our 6th year of the Fittest Loser, where we offer readers a chance to lose weight and learn to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We have been amazed at the results, with many of our contestants being able to go off medications for diabetes and high blood pressure as a result of their participation. Not to mention, they have all lost weight!

The 12-week Corporate Challenge runs parallel to the Fittest Loser Competition from February to May. This is a great opportunity for your company to get motivated to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle.
The 1st place team will receive a $2,000 donation to the company’s charity of choice, courtesy of this year's Corporate Challenge sponsor, Assurance, and Daily Herald Media Group. Each member of the winning team will also receive an individual prize package (over $200 value), including a FitBit® courtesy of Assurance.
Join the Challenge: Form a team of five people. Choose a captain. - We ask that the captain be someone in your Human Resources department or in that role so you have your company support.
- The captain can be either a member of the team or an external captain.
- If the captain is a member of the team, he or she will be one of the five-team members, and will weigh in and lose weight with the rest of the team.
- If the captain is an external captain, he or she will not participate in the weigh-in and will not be included among the five-team members.
- The team captain will be the main liaison with the DHMG and give a weekly update on how the team is doing. Also we will have an initial conference call/meeting to go over the rules etc.
Come up with a team name and theme song that best represents the team. Take a “before shot” photo of the team. Register your team online by January 27, 2014. For additional guidelines and to register your team, click here.
